Obstetrics

We feel privileged to have the opportunity to help you during this exciting time in your life. Pregnancy and birth are true mysteries even amid all of today's technology. Pregnancy and childbirth are powerful reminders that we are, in fact, not in charge of every aspect of our lives.

In our practice we have great respect for a woman's ability to give birth. We see our role as helping one achieve the birthing experience one desires and deserves. Pregnancy and childbirth are, of course, natural processes. Often managing pregnancy and birth requires nothing more than watchful amazement.

However, there are occasions when the natural processes go astray and our intervention is necessary. We will help you make your way through this exciting, yet potentially stressful time in your life to the best of our ability. We will be there for you during the entire course of your pregnancy and birth to assist in every way possible.

You will not be told what to do in our practice, but rather we will always discuss with your the various options available to you so that you may make the choices that are best for you and your family. The amount of information available to patients today is nothing less than overwhelming. We will help you navigate this sea of information so as to make better, more informed  healthcare decisions throughout your pregnancy. We understand that all women are unique and every pregnancy is special As a result, we tailor our management of pregnancy to met the individual needs of the patient and her family.

We offer an array of test during your pregnancy. However, if you feel a given test is not necessary for you and your baby you will be made to feel comfortable should you choose to forgo that test. We offer all our patients blood tests to assess for an increased risk of fetal anomalies such as down's syndrome and spina bifida We strongly recommend routine fetal ultrasound at twenty weeks of gestation to assess the fetus' age and to ruse out major anomalies. We may also suggest additional ultrasound examinations during the pregnancy if the need arises.
